South African Afro House singer-songwriter Exotiq Fiive02 stretches out on “Untamed,” a seven-and-a-half-minute single now on his album “HEALED.”
The song arrived on its own earlier this year, then took its place as track seven on “HEALED.” At seven minutes and 36 seconds, it is built for patience. The groove builds slowly, so the listener settles in before anything changes. That long format is common in deep and Afro House, where the mood matters as much as the hook.
Exotiq Fiive02 has been busy. His 2026 run includes “Pure Intentions,” “MAYE MAYE,” “Ngiyabonga Nkosi,” and the five-track “DREAM EP.” He also releases smooth remixes and tribal house cuts, like “The Roots (Tribal House)” and “Trip To Moletjie 2.0 (Smooth Touch).” So “Untamed” sits in a wide catalogue that moves between soulful vocals and deeper dance floor work.
Some of his earlier records already travelled far. “Lovely” has passed 265,000 plays on Spotify, and his “Lovely” remix reached more than 526,000 views on YouTube. His “ULELE” remix also topped 300,000. That track record gives a new single a ready audience, especially among fans of South African house.
The title hints at something loose and free, and the long runtime backs that idea. Early write-ups call the track a refreshing vibe.
If you like Afro House that takes its time, this one is for you.
