Nigerian highlife artist Fanzy Papaya drops a new solo cut titled “Hada Hada,” pulled from his “Highlife Rockstar” album.

Christian Obiora has been moving steadily this year, and this record adds to a project that already carries features from Slowdog, DennyB, and Insidelife.

Fanzy Papaya calls himself the Duke of Highlife, and his catalogue backs that up. He has worked alongside Umu Obiligbo, Flavour, and the Albino Brothers, building a network firmly rooted in Igbo music culture. His earliest musical memory, by his own account, is hearing Chief Stephen Osita Osadebe on his uncle’s radio at age five. That influence runs through everything he puts out, and “Hada Hada” is no different.

The production stays in familiar highlife territory – warm guitar tones, steady percussion, and a melodic arrangement that feels unhurried. Nothing about the beat chases trends. Instead, it leans into the kind of organic, live-instrument sound that has defined his approach since his early releases.

Fanzy Papaya’s vocal delivery on “Hada Hada” is loose and celebratory. He rides the groove with the ease of someone completely comfortable in his own sound. His Igbo phrasing flows naturally over the instrumentation, giving the record a conversational warmth that is hard to fake.

Fanzy Papaya keeps his sound consistent and his delivery genuine throughout. Stream the full project and let this one find its natural moment.
