American R&B singer Jhené Aiko reunites with Kendrick Lamar on “So Good,” a reflective cut from her album “Westside Whimsy.”
The song arrived with the album on September 11, 2026, and runs just under four minutes. Def Jam released the 20-track project, which is Aiko’s fourth album. Kendrick co-wrote “So Good,” and the two swap verses over a mid-tempo groove.
The reunion has real history behind it. Jhené appeared on Kendrick’s 2010 mixtape “Overly Dedicated.” He returned the favour with a verse on “Stay Ready (What a Life)” from her 2013 EP “Sail Out.” So this record closes a loop that began more than a decade ago. Outlets call it their first proper collaboration in over ten years, although both also sang on the chorus of Playboi Carti’s “Backd00r” in 2025.
The sound fits that long friendship. Aiko’s laid-back, dreamy approach leaves space, and Kendrick adds a layer without breaking the mood. Their styles blend easily, so the record feels familiar while still sounding current for where both artists are now.
Other guests on the album include Larry June, Ab-Soul, Tyga, and Ohma. Even so, the Kendrick link draws the biggest interest, because fans have waited a long time to hear the two together again.
