Ugandan Afrobeat legend Jose Chameleone links up with JeffKiwa on “Yeffe,” released through Team No Sleep (TNS) Entertainment via Opus Music Africa.
At just two minutes long, the record wastes nothing. Chameleone steps in with the same confident musical instinct he has carried since “Mama Mia” and “Badilisha” built his legacy across East and Central Africa. But “Yeffe” does not reach into his catalogue for comfort. It moves forward.
JeffKiwa adds a vocal texture that gives the collaboration its modern edge. Both artists share the record naturally – nobody crowds the other, and the chemistry feels comfortable rather than calculated. So “Yeffe” works as a genuine pairing rather than a veteran lending his name to a younger act’s record.
The Afrosounds framework keeps the production contemporary without chasing a trend. Chameleone has always moved across genres with ease – from zouk and reggae to dancehall and Afropop – and “Yeffe” shows that same fluidity. Because an artist active since 1996 who still sounds current does not get there by accident. He gets there by staying curious.
The official music video dropped on August 17 – two weeks after the audio. That rollout approach built audio momentum before the visual arrived, which means viewers came in already knowing the hook. So the video has something to reward rather than something to introduce.
His 2026 run also includes “Nakutegeera,” “Ngooma,” “Gumitte,” and “You Know” – all dropping within the same year. So “Yeffe” is not a rare gift from a legend. It is another chapter from an artist still operating at full speed.
