Ghanaian rapper Lyrical Joe bridges West and East African hip-hop with Kenya’s Khaligraph Jones on “Warrior Sound,” a six-minute statement.

The song is about going through criticism, setbacks and doubt but wanting to win still. It’s not a battle rap exchange. Both rappers use their verses to talk about persistence, and they treat the idea like a code to live by. The official video even calls it a celebration of the fighting spirit.

The length makes the difference. At nearly six minutes, the record gives each rapper far more space than a normal single. So the focus stays on sustained verses, wordplay, and forceful delivery, not on a quick hook. Phredxter produced it, and Andy Dosty added a fiery intro. Niijosiah directed the video, and Eriq Sackey made the artwork.

Both names carry weight. Lyrical Joe, whose real name is Joseph Gamor, won Best Rap Performance at the 2022 VGMAs, and students at Edge Hill University in England have studied his lyrics. Khaligraph Jones is one of Kenya’s best-known rap voices. Putting them together creates a pairing that rap fans on both sides of the continent wanted.

Early response has been strong too. The video entered Ghana’s YouTube music trending rankings shortly after it appeared. If you miss rap that puts bars first, this one is for you.
