Mnqobi Yazo links up with Mlindo the Vocalist on a new one titled “Unethezeke.” Two of South Africa’s most recognizable isicathamiya-rooted voices finally sharing a record together.

Mlindo, real name Lindokuhle Mgedeza, built his breakthrough on “AmaBlesser,” which went four times platinum and launched his platinum debut album “Emakhaya.” Both artists carry that same rural KwaZulu-Natal foundation in how they sing.

Yazo’s been moving through a reflective chapter lately, following “Inhlanhla” and heading into his upcoming album “Indlela.” Pairing with Mlindo here feels like two voices from the same tradition meeting at a natural point.

Mlindo’s known for golden, emotionally warm vocals shaped by his church choir roots and rural upbringing. That same warmth tends to define Yazo’s own isicathamiya-styled drawl and maskandi falsetto. Both artists have leaned into gratitude and reflection in their recent work.

Expect rich, layered production blending Afropop, Afro-soul, and traditional Zulu instrumentation, the exact space where both men’s voices naturally live.

By the end, “Unethezeke” plays like a meeting of two kindred Zulu voices built on shared heritage and genuine vocal warmth. Soulful, grounded, deeply South African.
