Tanzanian artists Msomali and Vanillah ask a heartfelt question in “Utakubali,” a Bongo Flava and Singeli-inspired love song.
The title means “Will You Accept?” or “Will You Agree?” That puts the song in the middle of persuasion and hope. One person offers love, and the other has not answered yet. So the tension sits right at the heart of the record.
Msomali handles the push. He writes from experience and his delivery is energetic but cautious. Vanillah then answers with a softer touch. Her smooth voice, wide range, and emotional writing give the song its warmth. Together they sound like two sides of the same conversation.
Dully Kibody produced the track under Vitamin Music. He built a smooth mid-tempo beat around sweet acoustic guitar, soft keyboard accents, and clean shakers. A heavy bass thud sits underneath, which adds some Afro-pop dance weight. As a result, the song stays gentle but still moves.
