Street-pop act Naira Marley, the Marlian Music boss, drops a new single titled “Jaiye” featuring Grammy-winning producer Rexxie.
The title, “Jaiye”, is a Yoruba word about enjoying life. Rexxie handled the production and takes a feature credit too, so his name shows up twice on this release. The pair have history, though.
Rexxie produced “Soapy” and “Tesumole” for Naira Marley, and he also gets credit for creating the Zanku sound. Their catalogue includes “Aye” and “Coming”, the Busiswa duet. Rexxie also helped produce the 2019 EP “Lord of Lamba”, so the partnership goes back a few years.
This is Naira Marley’s third official release of 2026. Before it, he teamed up with Kizz Daniel on “Ijoba”. That earlier record paired him with another singer, but this one leans on the producer behind several of his hits.
Rexxie’s profile has grown since those early days. He won a Grammy for his work on Burna Boy’s “Twice As Tall” album, yet he keeps coming back to Naira Marley’s sessions. Few producers have that kind of run with one artist.
