South African rap heavyweight Nasty C reunites with Tellaman on “Playlist,” a smooth hip-hop and R&B collaboration from their joint project “T’s & C’s Apply.”
This pairing has years of creative history behind it. From “Don’t Do It” on Bad Hair Extensions to “Whipped” going 5x Platinum and “Noma Kanjan” to “I’m Gone” on Lucid Dream – Nasty C and Tellaman have consistently found a specific chemistry that neither produces as cleanly with anyone else. So “Playlist” does not need to introduce the dynamic. It simply continues it.
At three minutes and twenty-six seconds, the record stays compact. Nasty C brings his fluid rap delivery and confident cadence while Tellaman anchors the melodic dimension with the R&B vocal texture that has defined his contribution to their collaborative output since 2015. Both artists give the production exactly what it needs without overloading the arrangement.
The “T’s & C’s Apply” project context also matters. Nasty C’s “Free” album crossing one million Spotify streams in two days and reaching number one on Apple Music in 12 countries in 2025 confirmed his independent era is working better than anyone anticipated after Def Jam.
So “Playlist” arrives from an artist operating with full creative and commercial confidence. Landing Tellaman alongside him on a joint project feels less like a nostalgic reunion and more like a natural extension of what they have always built together.
For South African hip-hop fans who have followed both artists since the Bad Hair era, this one lands exactly where it should.
