Recording artist Masauti gives “Ipepete” a fresh coat with a remix featuring Iyanii, built for Kenyan dance floors.

This is not a brand-new song. It reworks one of Masauti’s earlier singles. But the remix still feels like an event. Iyanii adds energetic verses, and the contrast with Masauti’s smooth, high-pitched vocals is easy to hear. The mood stays festive and rooted in Swahili club culture.

Motif handled production. The remix runs three minutes and forty-six seconds and moves at 103 beats per minute. That is a comfortable pace for dancing. A visualizer directed by Marc Creations accompanies it.

“Ipepete” has already been remixed more than once. Versions with Muva and Amoxco exist too. So the song keeps finding new life. Each remix puts a different guest on the same dance-friendly base.

Masauti, a Kenyan coastal star, is also known for “Kiboko” and “Sokote.” He leans on melody and playful Swahili lines. Iyanii, meanwhile, is a familiar voice in Kenyan pop and Bongo-leaning circles. Together they give the record a lively, club-ready feel.

Remixes work best when the guest changes the energy. Here, Iyanii does exactly that.
