Nigerian star Omah Lay revisits his hit “Holy Ghost” with “Holy Ghost Fire”, a rework featuring producer Lekaa Beats.
Lekaa Beats produced the original “Holy Ghost” as well, so this reunion makes sense. This time he also gets a feature credit. The first version pulled in 71.8 million global streams within a month of release. Its video, shot in South Africa, put Omah Lay on a horse with a torch.
“Holy Ghost Fire” is one of four additions to the extended “Clarity of Mind”, which now holds 16 songs. Gunna joins Omah Lay on “Back to Lagos”, while Tiakola guests on “Take”. The original “Holy Ghost” is track 10 on the 12-song album. Press notes call it the album’s spiritual core.
Lekaa Beats signed a global publishing deal with Sony Music Publishing in 2023. He has worked with Nasty C on the EP “Confuse the Enemy”. Omah Lay and Lekaa also linked on “Isaka II (6am)” with Tems and on “Angels” with Odumodublvck.
“Clarity of Mind” placed 12 songs on Billboard’s U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart at once, yet “Holy Ghost” still gets named among its highlights.
