Nigerian recording artist Phantom links up with Lucid on their fresh Afrobeats collaboration “Jangilo,” a record that puts two emerging acts on the same page.

Both Phantom and Lucid are building their presence in the Nigerian music space, and “Jangilo” is the kind of pairing that makes sense on paper and also delivers in practice. Phantom leads the record with the kind of assured delivery that has been showing up consistently across his recent output. Lucid slots in as a featured act but does not feel like a secondary voice – the two play off each other in a way that keeps the record moving without one side outweighing the other.

The production on “Phantom Jangilo” follows a straightforward Afrobeats arrangement. The pacing is measured rather than rushed, which gives both artists enough room to work through their sections cleanly before handing off. That kind of structural control is often what separates a collaboration that works from one that just sounds like two people on the same track.

Lucid has also appeared on “Show Love” alongside Swankii and Lyta, so this is not his first time lending a feature that shapes the direction of a song. Phantom, on his part, keeps adding to a growing catalogue through a mix of solo releases and collaborative singles.

“Jangilo” is available on all major streaming platforms now.
