Nigerian producer and singer Pheelz assembles a full squad on “OGA” featuring Rii, Shoday and OSHAMO.
The record is part of his “A Rii Set” EP and it arrives as one of the most energetic moments on the project.
“OGA” means boss or someone in authority and Pheelz builds the entire record around that energy. So from the first second the song carries a confidence that is hard to ignore. It sets a clear tone before anyone even opens their mouth.
The production is punchy and well layered. Pheelz constructs a beat that moves with purpose while still leaving enough room for four artists to perform without crowding each other. The result is a record that sounds full but never cluttered.
Rii brings her usual smooth delivery to the record. But on “OGA” she matches the energy differently. She sounds sharper and more assertive here while still keeping that melodic quality her fans recognise immediately.
Shoday steps in and adds real flavour to the mix. His contribution gives the record a street edge that works well alongside the bigger sound Pheelz creates. Meanwhile OSHAMO rounds things out with a performance that completes the picture without feeling like an afterthought.
Although the song has four voices involved it never loses focus. Pheelz keeps everything moving in the same direction throughout. That kind of creative control is not easy to pull off but he manages it cleanly here.
