Nigerian producer and singer Pheelz reunites with Flavour on “STEPPIN (Live),” reworking their “A Rii Set” collaboration for the “A Rii Set (Live)” EP.
So “STEPPIN” sits inside a much bigger creative statement rather than a standalone single.
The song itself centers on admiring a woman whose confidence and presence command attention. Pheelz opens with the praise before Flavour steps in with his own melodic phrasing and Igbo idioms, keeping the exchange distinctly Nigerian without crowding the central idea. Because the live arrangement gives vocals and rhythm more room to unfold, the contrast between Pheelz’s Afropop instincts and Flavour’s highlife-rooted delivery registers more clearly than it did in the studio cut.
Flavour, born Chinedu Okoli, has spent over a decade as a leading figure in highlife, so his presence here raises the cultural stakes considerably.
