I Believe is an ode to optimism and spiritual resilience, per one blog. Phyno brings his rap skills while Fireboy supplies the expressive vocals. Fireboy leads a sing-along hook, so the chorus does the heavy lifting. The blog calls the link-up energetic, with instant chemistry between the two voices.

The sound is warm and mid-tempo, with delicate guitar licks and dreamy synth pads. Snappy shakers keep the rhythm moving. Penthauze and MAD Solutions share the copyright line on the album.

DancehallMag notes that Fireboy DML came up through Olamide’s YBNL label. Phyno made the album 2 Kings with Olamide, so the link has history. Fada Fada with Olamide also made Billboard’s list of the best Afrobeats songs ever. That gives the pairing a quiet thread across eras of the scene.

Fireboy DML calls his sound Afro-Life. He is from Abeokuta in Ogun State, while his albums include Apollo and Adedamola. Fireboy is one of seven guests on the 15-track album, which runs about 45 minutes. Sing along to I Believe and tell us in the comments – what do you believe in right now?
