Abeokuta-born Zeh Nation kingpin Portable steps back into his street-hop lane with a confident new solo single titled “Champion,”

Portable does not need much of an introduction at this point. Since “Zazoo Zehh” put him on the map in late 2021 alongside Olamide and Poco Lee, he has been one of the most unpredictable and entertaining figures in Nigerian music. His 2026 has already been eventful — from his collab with Sexyshay on “Jami” to his widely discussed celebrity boxing loss to Carter Efe in May. So arriving with “Champion” right after that chapter carries an obvious personal charge.

The title is not subtle. Portable calling himself Champion in the middle of a public season where he took an L in the boxing ring is exactly the kind of defiant, unbothered energy his fanbase keeps coming back for. He has never been the kind of artist who retreats after a controversy or a setback. He runs at it louder.

Professional Beat builds a production that suits the mood — street-rooted, punchy, and built for the kind of listeners who have been riding with Portable since before the Olamide cosign changed his life. “Champion” sits firmly in that Zeh Nation sound without trying to evolve into something more polished or radio-friendly.

Portable recently made waves calling out Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy, and Olamide for losing touch with the streets. So releasing “Champion” as a solo, unfiltered street record right now is very much on brand.
