Alta Confianza Records boss Savage Xtra expands “Daily Prayers” into a full remix, bringing back Ejima042 and adding Aguero Banks on a D Meek production.
The original “Daily Prayers” featuring Ejima042 appeared on Savage Xtra’s June 2024 album Young, Blessed and Dangerous – a 14-track project from an artist who calls himself “Religious Fela” and means it literally. Born Uche Barry Nwachukwu in the UK but raised in Oyigbo, Rivers State, he has built his entire independent run on that intersection of spirituality and street consciousness. So a song called “Daily Prayers” getting a remix treatment is not random – it means the original hit something real enough to warrant expansion.
Ejima042 returning makes sense. The twin brothers from Enugu – “Ejima” means twins in Igbo, “042” is Enugu’s area code – bring native highlife texture that balances Savage Xtra’s Afrobeats delivery. But the new addition is Aguero Banks. The Enugu rapper, whose name literally means “prophecy leading to money,” has worked with Phyno on “Still Sober” and JeriQ on “Facie,” so he is not new to spiritually inflected street rap. His 2024 album The Hero (Ọnyịkọ) showed he could carry a full project. Here, he brings a verse to a song already built on perseverance and divine trust – which is squarely his territory.
Three artists, one consistent message, all southeastern roots. D Meek holds the production together across both versions.
Dive into the “Daily Prayers (Remix)” and drop your thoughts below – did Aguero Banks’s verse elevate this remix, or was Ejima042 already enough?
