Igbo gospel voice Sensational Blessing leads a joyful new praise medley titled “Powerful Old Igbo Praise Medley.” The set revisits older songs that many church members grew up on.
Old Igbo praise songs hold a special place in Nigerian churches, because many people learned them at home first. Medleys keep those songs alive, so younger worshippers can learn them too. Besides, hearing a familiar chorus in your own language feels like coming home.
The arrangement leans on highlife-style bass lines, lively congas and traditional-sounding percussion. Handclaps and a steady tempo keep the praise moving, while each song flows into the next. As a result, the medley feels like one long service moment.
Sensational Blessing leads with a strong, clear voice and sings with obvious faith. Because the lead stays confident, the congregation feels invited to join.
Backing voices answer in the classic call-and-response style. The words centre on thanksgiving, God’s power and gratitude for blessings, though the mood stays joyful. Meanwhile, repeated choruses make it easy to sing along, even for first-timers.
It honours older songs without making them sound dusty. So church groups and home worship sessions can both use it.
