Nigerian genre-bender STRAFFITTI links with underground trap artist OctobersRich on “WINDOW,” a Gqom single built on street energy.
The pairing is a surprise. STRAFFITTI, a Lagos-based artist, producer, and creative, is known for moving across sounds and connecting Nigeria’s underground to the wider culture. OctobersRich comes from the trap side, and he has become a viral TikTok creator through gritty street anthems and sharp Pidgin catchphrases. So the record joins two different corners of the underground on one beat. Their styles keep it raw, and neither artist waters down his approach.
The Gqom label gives the sound its pulse. South African club rhythms rarely meet Nigerian trap and Pidgin, which makes the mix feel fresh. Fans noticed it on TikTok before the release, where teasers and clips pulled in tens of thousands of likes. One viral edit even played with a Pidgin line, “wetin you dey think tho,” which shows how quickly people picked up the vibe.
It also keeps STRAFFITTI’s busy run moving. “WOUNJURE #SWAG” with Jeriq and Suono Sai arrived in September, the “GBED$$$” project landed earlier this year, and the “BUR$T” EP came in 2025. Throughout that stretch, he has used his platform to highlight underground talent, and this single does the same for OctobersRich.
For listeners who want something louder and stranger than mainstream Afrobeats, “WINDOW” opens a door.
Open “WINDOW” and tell us – does Gqom suit Nigerian trap?
