Tanzanian hip-hop force Young Lunya links up with Bongo Flava titan Harmonize on an explosive new collaboration titled “Mkuu Wa Majeshi.”
The title is doing a lot of clever work here. “Mkuu Wa Majeshi” translates to “Chief of Defense Forces,” and that’s a direct, playful jab at Harmonize’s longtime nickname “Jeshi,” meaning The Army. So this isn’t just a song title – it’s basically Young Lunya stepping into Harmonize’s own military branding and claiming command of it.
The accompanying video pushes that concept even further. Both artists show up in full military styling, framing the whole thing as a symbolic clash between Young Lunya’s “Mbuzi” persona and Harmonize’s “Tembo” identity. It’s less a feature and more a stylized rap battle dressed up as a power struggle.
Producer Fadhili Shaibu Hatibu built an aggressive, hard-hitting instrumental specifically suited for rapid-fire bar exchanges, and both artists take full advantage. Harmonize comes through noticeably grittier than usual, while Young Lunya anchors things with the sharp, technical wordplay that’s built his reputation under Sony Music.
This one has already sparked serious online chatter since dropping, and the “Goat vs Jeshi” framing alone guarantees attention. Watch and stream “Mkuu Wa Majeshi” now and see who actually wins this one.
