Nigerian artist Boy Spyce is not here to play it safe, and “Parousia (Interlude)” from his new EP makes that very clear.

The DMW singer dropped this short but meaningful piece as part of the project, and it is one of those tracks that quietly stands out when you sit with the EP long enough.

Parousia” carries a reflective, almost spiritual weight to it. The production is stripped back – minimal instrumentation, lots of space – and that is exactly what makes it work. Boy Spyce does not need a heavy beat here. The mood does the heavy lifting.

The word “Parousia” itself refers to arrival or divine presence, and you can feel that theme running through the record. It sounds like a moment of pause in the middle of a journey – a breath before the next chapter. Whether that was intentional or not, it hits that way.

His vocal delivery on this one is calm and measured. No runs, no oversinging. Just honest expression over a gentle arrangement that lets the lyrics speak for themselves.

As an interlude, it does exactly what it should – it connects the dots between the bigger songs on the EP and gives the project a sense of depth that most artists do not bother with these days.

If you have not listened to Boy Spyce’s new EP from start to finish, “Parousia (Interlude)” is a solid reason to do exactly that. The boy is building something real.
