For an artist who only officially started releasing music in 2026, the numbers are already hard to argue with – over 15 million streams across platforms, a growing TikTok community, and co-signs from Davido, BNXN, and Joeboy before a debut project even dropped. So when the EP finally came, it was not arriving quietly.
The six tracks sit in a lane that blends Afro-fusion with contemporary street-pop, but what keeps it from feeling generic is how personal the writing gets. “Achalugo” captures the early rush of admiration – that specific energy of pursuing someone you cannot stop thinking about. Then “Orekelewa” flips the mood completely, sitting in regret and accountability, a man realising he let something good slip away. That emotional range across two tracks alone tells you this is not a one-dimensional project.
What Abefe gets right here is pacing. The EP does not try to do too much. Six tracks, a clear emotional thread running through them, and enough sonic variety to keep the listen moving without losing the mood. The Yoruba expressions woven into the writing also give it a cultural texture that feels natural rather than forced.
