Nigerian singer, songwriter, and producer Ckay officially announces his third studio album “Banger Boy,” dropping August 7, 2026.

The rollout leading into this project has been calculated. “BODY (danz)” with Mavo crossed 78 million global streams and hit number one on Spotify Nigeria, so Ckay is not walking into this album without momentum. Then “E Clear” came through as the final pre-album single – a flamenco-tinged, guitar-driven love record that reminded everyone he can pull off the emotional lane just as convincingly as the dancefloor one. That contrast is exactly what Banger Boy is setting up to deliver.

The features list alone raises the stakes. Mavo, Kidd Carder, Phyno, Maleek Berry, and King Promise on the same project – that is a serious spread of sounds and audiences. Phyno brings the street credibility, Maleek Berry adds the alternative Afrofusion layer, and King Promise extends the pan-West African reach. It reads less like a features list and more like a deliberate statement about where Ckay sits in 2026.

What makes this album campaign interesting is the identity shift it signals. The “Africa’s Boyfriend” era was real and it worked, but Banger Boy points toward a rockstar-minded version of Ckay – still emotionally honest, but with electric guitars and club energy sitting right beside the heartfelt writing. He called the project full of surprises, and based on the singles so far, that does not feel like hype.

The 12-track project drops on August 7, and this one is shaping up to be a proper event.
