Real name Kgosi Chauke, King P was born in Soweto and raised in Attridgeville, Pretoria’s west side. He started making beats at just 15. That kind of background shows up in his music – the log drums hit with purpose, and the arrangements rarely feel cluttered. Over the years he has linked up with names like LeeMcKrazy, DBN Gogo, Sir Trill, Scotts Maphuma and Sponge 101, building a catalogue that stretches across both club and home listening settings.
King P Broken Groove leans into that same groove-heavy space his fans already know. But there is something a little more stripped back about this one. The production gives the rhythm room to breathe, which is often where Amapiano works best — when it trusts the groove instead of overloading it.
