Cape Town rap act K.Keed reunites with Orish on “Ngangelizwe II,” a deeply personal follow-up off their Umgaranto II album.
The original “Ngangelizwe” was one of the standout tracks from the first uMgaranto EP in 2023. Coming back to that title on the sequel isn’t nostalgia – it’s a statement. K.Keed and Orish aren’t running from where they started, they’re building on it with intention.
The duo described Umgaranto II as more cinematic, more intentional than the first tape. “Ngangelizwe II” sits right at the heart of that growth. You can hear the difference between where they were three years ago and where they are now – same DNA, sharper execution.
K.Keed’s lyricism on this one carries real emotional depth. The kind you write when you’ve actually been through something. “Ngangelizwe” means “by the world” in isiXhosa. That weight – of being shaped and tested by life – runs through every bar.
“Ngangelizwe II” proves some stories deserve a second chapter – have you streamed Umgaranto II in full yet? Drop your verdict in the comments!
