Tanzanian gospel minister Christopher Mwahangila is back with another worship record as he drops “Nakutazama Wewe Tu,” a song of surrender and focus directed at God.
Born in Mbeya and now based in Dar es Salaam, Mwahangila started his musical journey as a guitarist in church before eventually becoming a praise and worship leader. He has cited the late Angela Chibalonza and Upendo Nkone as inspirations. His 2016 debut album “Mungu Ni Mungu Tu” moved millions of copies across Tanzania, Kenya and wider East Africa. Since then he has kept a steady flow of releases, with songs like “Mungu Hawezi Kukusahau,” “Nasema Asante,” “Yesu Yuko Hapa” and “Mungu Ni Mungu Tu” building a catalogue that resonates deeply within the Swahili-speaking Christian community.
“Nakutazama Wewe Tu,” which translates to “I Look Only to You,” carries that same devotional tone his audience already connects with. The message calls believers to keep their eyes fixed on God, especially through difficult and uncertain seasons. It is the kind of record built for personal reflection but also works well in a church setting.
