South African dance music queen Makhadzi Entertainment drops a high-energy eight-track EP titled “Tsotsi,” and it lands exactly like you would expect from one of Mzansi’s most consistent female artists.
The title track with Ba Bethe Gashoazen already set the tone before the full project arrived. That single carried the signature Makhadzi energy – loud, rhythmic, and impossible to stand still to. But the EP proves she did not just build around one strong record. Each track brings its own personality while the project stays cohesive throughout.
The collaborator selection is also deliberate. Ba Bethe Gashoazen runs through multiple tracks as her most trusted creative partner. Prince Benza comes through on “Sanamarena” alongside Memie – a link-up that carries commercial weight. PLG Chanty, M.J, and Gusba Banana feature on opener “Kikirika.” Tribby Wadi Bhozza and Dr Skaro handle “Jonasi.” So the eight tracks span different energy levels and moods without losing the dancefloor identity that defines Makhadzi’s lane.
“Tribute To Woman” also earns its placement as a standalone record. Because within a project mostly built for movement, a record that slows down and honours womanhood gives the EP emotional depth that pure dance projects often skip. That balance is what separates a well-constructed EP from a tracklist assembled in a hurry.
Makhadzi has now delivered “BIG 30” and “Tsotsi” within the same year. So 2026 is shaping up as one of her most productive output periods. But the quality across these projects suggests she is not rushing anything – every track landed with clear intent.
