South African Deep House artist Ladi Adiosoul brings MR COOL, K MAN, and Deli together on “PHAKAMA,” released through the respected InQfive imprint.
“Phakama” means “rise” or “lift up” in Zulu and Xhosa. So the concept carries an uplifting energy before a single note plays. Ladi Adiosoul frames that theme around the warmth and movement that InQfive’s Deep House catalogue has always delivered. The result is a five-minute-and-54-second journey that earns every second of its runtime.
The production runs at 114 BPM in G minor – a tempo and key combination that gives Deep House its particular melancholic warmth. Ladi Adiosoul understands that space deeply.
