South African producer DJ Karri links up with Katah Katah, Zela Force and Rex on “Kwe Kwee,” calling on Smalldrum and Malandela for a dancefloor-ready Amapiano record.
This list was not a mistake. Rex and SmallDrum have appeared on multiple records with DJ Karri including “Nana 2.0” and “Lakodura” while Katah Katah has become a near-constant in his recent catalog thru songs like “Strateng”. So “Kwe Kwee” sticks to a working relationship that has already proven it can churn out hits, instead of testing out unproven chemistry.
The old circle gets a new lease of life with Zela Force, and Malandela adds his own style to the vocal contribution. Six artists and the result is infectious beats and catchy, layered melodies, creating that full and dense sound which has become the signature of DJ Karri’s collaborative style in 2025 and 2026.
What’s amazing is how DJ Karri keeps the records fresh so consistently while often working with the same rotating collaborators. “Kwe Kwee” carries the same infectious energy that made “Strateng” and “Nana 2.0” stand out moments in his catalog but finds its own identity thru the new additions of Zela Force and Malandela.
