South African Amapiano producer Djy Vino assembles Kabza De Small, Maline Aura, and SLY on “Uzamcolo,” track two on his “I AM” album – and landing Kabza on track two sends a clear message about this project’s ambition.

Kabza De Small’s presence anywhere on an Amapiano record changes the conversation immediately. As one of the architects of the genre’s global expansion and the man behind projects that have redefined what South African piano music can achieve commercially, his appearance on “Uzamcolo” confirms Djy Vino is building this album at a serious level rather than releasing content for content’s sake. Because Kabza does not show up on records that do not meet a specific creative standard.

“Uzamcolo” translates to “the flood” or “the great deluge” in Zulu – and that imagery fits the production’s depth and scale. The arrangement does not arrive gently. It builds the kind of sonic environment that earns its biblical title rather than borrowing it for drama. Djy Vino constructs the framework while Kabza De Small’s production instinct and shaping power give the track its authority. So the co-production dynamic here is a genuine creative conversation rather than one artist handing another a beat.

Maline Aura and SLY then add the vocal dimensions that ground the record emotionally. SLY also appears on “Midnight Train” at track one – so her presence at track two builds a consistent thread through the album’s opening stretch. Maline Aura brings a complementary freshness that keeps “Uzamcolo” feeling current rather than purely atmospheric.
