South African producer Sthibo de Beat joins Al Xapo, Colkaze, and RIVALZ on “BAWO,” a dark Afro House cut.

The track sits fourth on his five-track EP “Don’t Touch My Afro,” and it brings a darker edge to the project. Deep bass and atmospheric textures build a club-focused backdrop with plenty of weight. So the mood shifts from the lighter opening tracks into something heavier and more serious.

Al Xapo adds groovy basslines that beef up the low end. Colkaze and RIVALZ then complete the collaborative feel. The arrangement remains uncrowded which allows the bass and rhythm to lead the experience. Because of that, the dancefloor energy stays steady from start to finish.

The group has history, too. Sthibo de Beat, Al Xapo, and Colkaze already worked together on “Caracara,” so the chemistry feels settled. Sthibo has been active since 2014, and he built his name on infectious rhythms, layered arrangements, and bass-driven production.

On the EP, “BAWO” follows “Kuza Kuwe” with Optimist Music ZA and comes right before “Move Me.” That placement gives the project a late push of energy.

For Afro House fans who like their grooves deep and unfussy, this one is worth a slot in the club playlist.
