Kolaboy brings Eastern rap voices Aguero Banks and Hugo P together on “N’aka Mmadu,” track nine of his debut album.
The Igbo title points to human hands and what people do with them. It is a thoughtful phrase, and it frames the song around action and responsibility. Kolaboy keeps the idea open, so each rapper can bring his own angle.
Three voices share the record. Kolaboy leads in his indigenous style, and Aguero Banks adds the weight of a rap veteran who recently released “THE RETURN (Eze Onyịkọ).” Hugo P rounds it out with a sharp, wordy approach. The mix changes the mood from Kolaboy’s solo cuts, because each verse brings a new voice and a new rhythm.
The song also sits in a strong stretch of “Nwa Nwanyi Deeper Life.” It follows “Bank” with JeriQ and leads into the solo track “Okpoko.” That order keeps the album moving between team-ups and personal moments.
Igbo language stays at the centre of Kolaboy’s style, and it keeps the album rooted in Eastern Nigeria. Fans of indigenous rap will enjoy hearing three of its voices on one beat.
