Kolaboy joins fellow indigenous rapper JeriQ on “Bank,” the eighth track from his debut album, “Nwa Nwanyi Deeper Life.”
This one is a straight duet, and it works because the two rappers fit each other. Both come from Nigeria’s contemporary indigenous hip-hop movement. Kolaboy stays at the centre, as he does across the whole album, while JeriQ adds his own rap presence on top. So the song feels like a real exchange, not a feature dropped in for show.
The placement matters too. “Bank” lands around the midpoint of the 13-track project, right after “Time Shall Tell” with MOEC and just before “N’aka Mmadu.” That spot turns it into a pivot. The first half drives hard, and this record gives the second half a place to start.
Short titles often carry big energy, and this one does. It keeps the mood punchy and direct. Kolaboy’s Igbo-flavoured delivery meets JeriQ’s sharper style, and the contrast keeps the verses lively.
The album mixes Afro-drill, indigenous rap, and highlife, with stories from Eastern Nigeria running through it. “Bank” adds a duet with real chemistry to that mix. If you like your indigenous rap with clean teamwork, this record fits.
