Kilogbede Records producer SSSoundGawd teams up with Iyoo Cartel boss JeriQ on “Ego,” a fresh Afrobeat and rap collaboration.

SSSoundGawd is a fast-rising Nigerian artist and producer, and he shares a label with Mavo. He has built a catalogue through solo records and collaborations, including “Presido” with Loony Q and “SoHo” from his EP “THE WORST.” This time he brings in JeriQ, a rapper known for a distinctive delivery, street-inspired storytelling, and Igbo expressions. So the song joins a producer’s polished sound with a rapper’s raw edge, and that contrast carries the record.

Early write-ups do not share the writing details, so the title is the main clue. “Ego” is a short word that invites guesses, from pride to confidence to the way people see themselves. Both artists leave room for listeners to decide, and the Afrobeat base stays easy to move to. That openness helps the song travel, because anyone can place their own story inside it.

JeriQ also stays busy. Fans recently heard him on Kolaboy’s “Bank” and Cruel Santino’s “Oz.,” so his name now crosses several corners of Nigerian rap. That momentum gives this single extra attention, and it has already shown up on trending lists.

For listeners who like a producer-led record with an indigenous rap voice on top, “Ego” is a good one to add.
