Ghanaian rapper M.anifest pairs up with Black Sherif on “Road Rage”, a road-trip record about drive and ambition.
M.anifest previewed the song live at his “Nowhere Cool at 10” concert in Accra, so fans heard it first. That show marked ten years since his “Nowhere Cool” album. Then the single arrived with an official lyrics video through Mass Appeal and Singitdamnit Music. The artwork shows a monster truck on a road sign.
On “Road Rage”, the road trip stands in for life’s journey. Ambition and resilience drive the message. M.anifest brings a sharp lyrical approach, while Black Sherif adds an emotional, charged delivery.
Black Sherif, known as the Iron Boy, comes from Konongo. He grew up in the same town as highlife pioneer Amakye Dede. His 2022 single “Kwaku the Traveller” debuted at number one on the TurnTable Top 50. Then the album “Iron Boy” followed in 2025.
The Guardian called M.anifest the foremost rapper on the continent in 2015. His sixth album, “New Road & Guava Trees”, landed on Nas’s Mass Appeal label, the same home as this single. He also co-founded Giant Steps, a conference for creative entrepreneurs.
After you queue up “Road Rage”, which verse do you rewind first, M.anifest’s or Black Sherif’s?
