South African Amapiano producer 034 Mafia brings together several rising names on Mafia Business, an 11-track album packed with dance collaborations.
There is plenty happening on this project, especially for listeners who enjoy the different sounds coming out of South Africa. 034 Mafia brings other producers and performers into the recordings, creating a collection that moves between Amapiano, Gqom and disco influences.
The opening track, “ABANGANI,” features Tkcreedlion, 4THEE_ZA, Miikey Ndlovu and Q Bonke. It is one of the busiest collaborations on the album, with several artists coming together on a single recording. Meanwhile, “Mission Impossible” brings Twoo Kayy and M00tion into the picture.
Another interesting entry is “Mission Lowpass,” featuring TrpmuziQ and The Musical Selectors SA. The latter also appears on “New Age Thesha (GQOM & DISCO),” which features Ruvano. The title itself hints at a different direction from the usual Amapiano sound.
034 Mafia also works with Djy Bongz Deekota and Djy’Tumie on “Diesel Ya Tura.” Retro-Tee and TrpmuziQ join him on “ONETWO (Festive Mix),” while ZinedinexSguche appears on “Shaya Umdantso.”
One track that brings several names together is “Five Star,” featuring MusicalKay, Sbuda Maleather, Prawd Wunder and Nothing HP. TrpmuziQ returns on “Contract Signed,” before 034 Mafia handles “Cash In Transit” on his own.
The album closes with “Yini iGasman (Bonus Ngoma),” completing a collection that runs for approximately 64 minutes.
