Congolese rumba icon Fally Ipupa delivers “XX : Délirium,” a massive 51-track second half of his eighth studio album.

The size alone is a statement. Fally Ipupa released “XX” as a two-part project, and the first part held 20 tracks. Now “Délirium” arrives with 51 more, and the physical release spreads across four discs. So this is less an album and more a full library. He recorded the whole project across four years, and the patience shows in how much material he had to choose from.

The concept also brings him back to his roots. Fally Ipupa planned “Délirium” as a return to Congolese rumba, the sound that shaped his career. He has said the project mixes rumba with modern urban touches, so old and new share the same room. Fans already heard a taste through “Wanna Danse,” “Complices,” and “Kita Mata,” plus the warm single “Bonheur Parfait.”

The timing adds weight. He marks twenty years as a solo artist, and he recently made history as the first Congolese artist to headline the Stade de France. A project this large feels like a victory lap and a legacy statement at once.

For rumba lovers, this is a long listen worth planning for. Start with the singles, then let the rest unfold over a few evenings.
