LAWISA – KWAZENZAKALELA (Album)

South African Maskandi singer LAWISA brings a new four-track project titled KWAZENZAKALELA, with guest appearances from Londeka Shangase and NZUZO.

The project keeps things short, but there is enough music here for fans of traditional South African sounds to check out. LAWISA stays at the centre of the recordings, with two solo songs and two collaborations making up the entire release.

The title track, “KWAZENZAKALELA,” features Londeka Shangase. Her appearance adds another voice to the project, making this one of the collaborations to look out for. The song also shares its name with the EP, giving it an important place in the tracklist.

NZUZO appears on “NGAMTHANDA KAKHULU,” the closing song. This collaboration gives the project a different ending, while allowing LAWISA to share the performance with another artist. Both guests have their own moments on the EP, but LAWISA remains the main attraction throughout.

The collection opens with “EDUZE KWADALI,” before moving into the title track. “BUKELA” follows as the third song, giving LAWISA another opportunity to perform without a guest appearance.

Released through the Maskandi music scene, KWAZENZAKALELA contains four songs with a combined runtime of approximately 15 minutes. It is a compact release for listeners who prefer indigenous South African music and want something new from LAWISA.

The project also gives fans two collaborations to explore, particularly those who already follow Londeka Shangase and NZUZO.
