Nigerian producer and singer Pheelz delivers one of his most focused and well rounded projects yet with the “A Rii Set” EP. And at the centre of everything is one constant – Rii.
The EP runs seven tracks deep and every single one of them serves a purpose. Pheelz does not pad the project with filler. So from the opening record to the closing one the listening experience feels intentional and complete.
THE EP TRACKS
The project opens strongly with “GONGO ASO” alongside Young Jonn. It sets a celebratory and culturally rich tone that immediately tells you what kind of EP this is going to be. Meanwhile “RIDE OR DIE” with Ami Faku shifts the mood into something more emotional and cinematic. The South African vocalist brings a richness to that record that makes it one of the standout moments on the project.
“ALL NIGHT LONG” with Didi B leans into late night romance while “STEPPIN” with Flavour raises the cultural stakes significantly. Flavour’s presence on that record alone makes it one of the most memorable moments across the seven tracks. Although “OBLEE” arrives as the more uplifting and feel-good entry it balances the deeper records around it perfectly.
“OGA” brings the energy back up with four voices working together on one record without losing focus. Then “DIRTY DIANA RIDDIM” closes things out in the most unexpected direction. It is darker and moodier than everything before it. But that contrast is exactly what makes it the right way to end the project.
What makes “A Rii Set” work as a body of work is how Pheelz manages range without losing consistency. The EP moves through celebration, romance, street energy, cultural depth and dark atmospheres. Yet it never feels scattered because the production voice stays the same throughout.
Rii deserves special mention. She appears on every track and carries each one differently. Her versatility across the EP is one of its biggest strengths and the Pheelz and Rii combination clearly has more to offer beyond this project.
“A Rii Set” is a confident and complete statement from Pheelz. Stream it from top to bottom and give it the full attention it deserves.
