Tanzanian Bongo Flava artist Atan teams up with hitmaker Kontawa on “Watuache,” a street record that carries a clear message of independence.
The title translates to “Let them leave us alone,” so the song takes direct aim at critics and gossip .
The chemistry between both artists drives the track. Atan handles the melodic side with smooth vocals, while Kontawa brings his street-inspired delivery and Swahili storytelling . That balance keeps the record from feeling one-sided. The production leans into Afrosound beats mixed with Singeli edges, so the energy stays high without overwhelming the message .
It speaks to anyone pursuing goals that others doubt . The song gives Atan another solid entry in his growing catalog while showing Kontawa’s ability to adapt to different sounds .
