Closeboy doesn’t soften anything on “Fucked Up,” a title that tells you exactly what headspace this one’s coming from.

Blunt as it gets, honestly. Closeboy’s not dressing up whatever he’s going through with a cleaner word. Sometimes the ugly version of a feeling deserves the ugly version of the word, and he picked it on purpose.

Instrumental stays dark, low synth drone humming under sparse, heavy drums. Nothing bright sneaks into the mix anywhere. The whole arrangement leans into discomfort rather than trying to soften it.

Closeboy’s delivery carries real frustration, voice tightening in spots like he’s barely holding it together. Not smooth, not polished, and that roughness is clearly intentional. You believe the mess because it sounds like actual mess.

Lyrics stay blunt throughout, naming whatever’s wrong without softening the language or the sentiment. No redemptive turn tacked on at the end either. Just sits in the frustration and lets it be exactly that.

“Fucked Up” earns its title by refusing to clean itself up for anybody. Closeboy built something honest about a bad place, not a pretty one. Rare to hear it this unfiltered.
