Malawian music star Fada Moti joins forces with Zeze Kingston on “KWAYIPA,” a lively urban record built for high-energy moments.
Zeze Kingston, born Robert Ching’anda, has built serious credibility in Malawian music since starting out as a producer back in 2011. So “Fada Moti KWAYIPA” arrives with real weight behind Zeze’s side of the collaboration. He won Male Artist of the Year and Best Live Act at the 2023 Maso Awards, crediting much of his success to South Africa’s Amapiano sound after his EP “In My Zone” followed the massive hit “Mvetsela.” That track, featuring Temwah and Jillz, already showed his range across genres.
Fada Moti brings his own energy into the mix here, blending modern hip-hop influences with local Malawian sound choices rather than leaning entirely into Amapiano. That combination gives “KWAYIPA” a slightly different texture than what Zeze Kingston usually delivers on his own records. Two artists working from different genre backgrounds can sometimes clash, but here the pairing leans into urban energy that suits both their catalogues.
For fans following Malawi’s growing music scene, this collaboration between two established names is worth catching, especially given how active both artists have been lately.
