FOLA places “WAF” at track ten of his sophomore album “9,” a record fans heard long before its official arrival.

The song leaked in May 2026, and it built an audience without any formal rollout. Snippets and user clips did the work, so listeners already knew the hook when it finally landed on the album. TurnTable also reported early that the song would make the final cut. That kind of word-of-mouth gives a track a head start, and it shows how fast FOLA’s fans move.

On the 14-song project, “WAF” sits after “fine ting (fine $hit)” and just before “Crime.” That puts it in the album’s later half, where the sequence moves from lighter moments toward something heavier. The album is also known as “Striker,” named for the football number nine, the player expected to score.

FOLA carries a lot of goodwill into this one. His debut “Catharsis” is still performing well, and he is a signee of Bella Shmurda’s Dangbana Republik. The new project adds big names like Davido, Ayra Starr, BNXN, Darkoo, Bella Shmurda, and Zlatan, yet “WAF” stays among the solo cuts, so his own voice carries it.

Known for soulful vocals and emotional writing, FOLA mixes Afrobeats with R&B touches that feel personal. “WAF” fits that style well.
