Golide comes through with “GBMG (Busisa),” a spiritually-leaning amapiano cut that trades hype for something quieter.
Busisa means bless in isiZulu, and that word alone shifts the whole approach here. Golide’s not chasing a dancefloor reaction with this one. Feels more like gratitude set to a beat than an actual party record.
Instrumentally it still sits in amapiano territory, log drum present but noticeably softer than usual. Keys carry most of the emotional weight, warm chords looping instead of the usual percussive stabs. Golide leaves real space in the mix, letting the mood breathe rather than fill every gap.
Vocals lean toward chant again, but there’s a reverence in the repetition this time, less about groove and more about intention. Doesn’t sound like Golide’s performing for a crowd here. Sounds more like something said quietly, almost to themselves.
Not much lyrical complexity to dig into, a handful of phrases circling gratitude and blessing. That’s kind of the whole point though, some ideas don’t need dressing up. Repetition becomes the prayer here, not a lyrical shortcut.
Different lane than most of what’s coming out of amapiano right now. Worth a spin if you’re tired of every track chasing the same log drum formula.
