Moroccan rapper ISSAM adds “Star Dancer” to a busy 2026, a Def Jam North Africa single produced by Prince 85.

The song arrives with a full creative team. Prince 85 handled production, xcep mixed it, and Grant Berry mastered it. ISSAM wrote, composed, and performed it himself, so the voice and the vision stay in one hand. A music video directed by NB2WN accompanies the single, with Yazid Bezaz producing and Ismail Guluev editing. Universal Music Group’s Def Jam North Africa released it, which shows how seriously the label treats him.

ISSAM, born Issam Harris in Derb Sultan, Casablanca, built his name by blending trap with Moroccan sounds. His early record “Trap Beldi” helped define that mix, and he has since worked with artists like NaaR and Jazz Cartier on “Casablanca.” That background matters, because it explains why a track called “Star Dancer” can still feel local. He turns global rap sounds into something rooted in Morocco.

The new single follows a busy year. “RAÏ 2008” and “TATTOO” also arrived in 2026, and “Dynamite” and “Boubakar & Bachr” with Tihay came in 2025. So “Star Dancer” is part of a steady run, not a one-off.

For African listeners who follow North African rap, ISSAM stands as one of the region’s most visible voices. The release also shows how Def Jam is investing in sounds from Morocco, which could open doors for more regional artists.
