Egyptian rapper Slyver sets a cold, calculated baseline on “PUFF PUFF,” a key track on his four-track EP “PV2.0.”

Scene Noise describes the EP as having an unmistakable hostility, and this song sets that tone. Slyver returned from a hiatus earlier this year, and he has been widening the reach of his sound since then. On “PV2.0,” he pushes into a more aggressive space, with unrelenting flows across four dense, confrontational tracks. “PUFF PUFF” gives the project its steady, icy footing, both in sound and in look.

The creative team is tight. Slyver wrote and performed the record himself, and Ettoo handled the production. 8lindorwhat mixed and mastered it. The official video, directed by JR Shrief with Abdallah Ayman as director of photography and Hassan Ghanem on edit, reinforces the cold mood. Everything points in one direction, which helps the record feel focused. It does not try to please everyone.

The song sits among a strong 2026 run. “MAKKAR” and “FAAD BEYA” also arrived this year, and the Egyptian rapper has a history of collaborations, including “Mofasa” with Ahmed Santa and Abo El Anwar from 2024. Fans who followed him before the break will notice how sharp the writing has become.

For listeners who like their Arabic rap dark and direct, this is a good entry point. Even for those who do not speak the language, the tension in the beat and the delivery comes through.

Step into the cold with “PUFF PUFF” and tell us – does hostility make rap better?
