Trust don spoil for this one, and Juls no dey pretend otherwise. He teams with Projexx and Tay Iwar for “Trust Issues,” a record that wears its suspicion right on its sleeve.
Three different sounds meeting on one track could easily go wrong, but here it just clicks. Juls anchors things production-wise, Projexx brings dancehall grit, and Tay Iwar folds in that alté smoothness. Nobody’s fighting for the spotlight.
Guitar licks drift over a mid-tempo groove, syncopated percussion keeping everything loose and swaying. It’s not a heavy beat by any means. Juls builds it to feel like a slow burn, something you nod to before you even notice.
Projexx opens with his usual patois swagger, though there’s an edge to it this time. He’s guarded, half-joking about being let down before. Still, the delivery stays smooth, never tipping into bitterness.
Tay Iwar takes the emotional baton and runs somewhere quieter with it. His verse leans introspective, almost murmured, like he’s working through the doubt as he sings. That contrast against Projexx’s bounce gives the song real texture.
Nothing about “Trust Issues” tries to resolve itself neatly, and that’s the point. Three artists, one shared hesitation, and a groove that carries the weight without ever feeling heavy. It just sits there, honest.
