Amapiano kingpins Kabza De Small and DJ Maphorisa expand their hit “Biri Marung” into a massive continental remix, pulling in Davido, Focalistic, Mr Pilato, Ego Slimflow, Tebogo G Mashego, and Scotts Maphuma.
The record landed on August 29, 2025, as part of the Scorpion Kings’ seven-track project, *Kings Will Rise* .
The original “Biri Marung” was already a monster. It went platinum, dominated charts for weeks, and spawned over four million TikTok videos . So the remix had big shoes to fill. DJ Maphorisa explained that the idea sparked while they were in Nigeria, seeing how massive the song had become there . That context matters because this version is not just a lazy add-on. It is a deliberate attempt to bridge Lagos and Johannesburg.
Davido opens the track with his signature melodic flair, weaving Afrobeats energy into the Amapiano bounce . Focalistic and Mr Pilato keep the South African and Zambian street energy intact.
