Ugandan duo Kataleya & Kandle return with another smooth addition to their catalogue through “Sinnaba.”
Made up of Rebecca Robins Nabatuusa and Hadijah Namakula, the pair holds the distinction of being Uganda’s first female music duo. So “Kataleya Sinnaba” isn’t a featured collaboration in the traditional sense. Both artists perform entirely on their own here, letting the vocal chemistry that first brought them together take full center stage. That partnership dates back to a chance meeting at a birthday party, long before Theron Music Records signed them in 2021 following their debut single “Muzibe wa Love.”
Respected Ugandan producer Nessim handled production on this record, giving it a clean, contemporary Afrobeat and Urban Afrosounds finish. Their harmonies sit comfortably over the polished arrangement, creating an easy-going, melodic feel rather than anything overly dramatic. That balanced delivery has become something of a trademark for the duo, blending both their individual vocal strengths into one cohesive sound rather than one voice leading the other.
Distributed globally through ONErpm, “Sinnaba” continues a steady 2026 run for a duo that keeps proving why they broke ground as Uganda’s first all-female music pairing.
