South African deep house producer KingTouch steps back into one of his signature records with a nostalgic new rework titled “Mind Ur Steps (Nostalgic Mix),”

The Nostalgic Archive: 1 album is KingTouch doing something deliberate and personal. Rather than arriving with entirely new material, he is reaching back into his existing catalogue and rebuilding records through a nostalgic lens — preserving what made the originals connect while layering a more refined, contemporary Afro House production sensibility on top. “Mind Ur Steps” sits at the centre of that exercise as track three, arriving after “Come On Y’all” and “The Ghetto” have already set the tone for what the project is about.

At six and a half minutes, “Mind Ur Steps (Nostalgic Mix)” gives itself enough room to breathe properly. KingTouch has always understood that deep house and Afro House records need time to build. You cannot rush a groove into existence. So the extended runtime is not indulgent — it is the point. Each minute adds another layer until the record finds its full depth.

The Nostalgic Archive: 1 tracklist also shows KingTouch working mostly alone across the project, with only “Bazozwa Ngomlilo” featuring Que Da Floor and Tee-R as guest contributions. That solo approach gives the album a consistent, focused identity throughout — one producer, one vision, eight records that all pull in the same direction.
